Neil Stewardson – General Manager
Currently the General Manager, Neil joined SRO in 2015 and has also been the Electrical Manager and Operations Manager. His position comes on the back of 27 years’ experience working in heavy industry. Neil has an electrical background at both trade and engineering level and for 20 years has worked in various management positions in manufacturing and service-providing businesses.
Richard Ross – Engineering Manager
A registered electrical engineer with 35 years’ experience in design and project management of industrial and mining projects, Richard joined SRO in 2017 as the Engineering Manager. He had previously held senior management roles in high-volume electrical manufacturing environments, where he drove innovation and continuous improvement.
Brent Amor – Operations Manager
Brent has recently been promoted to Operations Manager after he spent his initial two years as the Mechanical Business Manager at SRO, where he ensured clear communication with clients and that projects were delivered on time and within budget. A qualified boilermaker, he has 15 years’ experience in heavy fabrication, as well as management roles in which he successfully completed major overseas projects. Brent enjoys spending spare time with family and friends, and camping.
Malcolm Rumbel – Business Development Manager
After completing his Diploma of Electrical Engineering, Mal joined a company carrying out high-voltage maintenance, providing site services including installation to mining and other heavy industry. He quickly rose to manager where he established his business development skills before moving into the aluminium industry, managing mechanical and electrical maintenance projects, and completing a course in business management.
Mal joined SRO in November 2017 where his diverse knowledge of the industry, its people, and SRO projects soon became apparent, and he was appointed Business Development Manager. His passions (besides making SRO great) are his family, bass fishing, and his beloved Cronulla Sharks.
Tony Bunt – Electrical Supervisor
A recent arrival at SRO in 2018, Tony started as a Project Co-ordinator, overseeing the construction of a number of electrical projects. His communication skills and the rapport he established with SRO customers resulted in his promotion to Electrical Supervisor where he continues to take great pride in understanding their needs and ensures that projects are delivered on time and on budget. Tony is a trade qualified electrician with more than 25 years’ experience in large electrical projects from switchroom and substation builds to the open cut-mining sector where he has co-ordinated the “planned shutdown overhaul” of GE electric draglines and P&H electric shovels.
Mitchell Binns – Mechanical Supervisor
After joining SRO in 2011 as a sheetmetal worker/boilermaker, Mitch has worked his way through the ranks to Mechanical Business Supervisor. He has almost a decade of experience in heavy and light fabrication, and in his time at SRO has developed skills in programming and operating CNC machinery, working with engineers to find the most cost-effective ways to execute all fabrication works. Mitch supervises a team of 40 to 50 boilermakers but is happy to fill in wherever SRO requires.
Chris McHugh – Project Estimator
Chris has been with the Murray Group for six years total, and SRO for the last four years, after transferring from Murray Engineering in Pinjarra WA during SRO’s acquisition. He is currently serving as SRO’s Project Estimator after spending his initial two years as the Procurement & Logistics Co-ordinator. Chris has a diverse background, with substantial experience in mechanical and electrical estimation, project management, and strategic procurement and sourcing.
